These can be spent is similar ways to Story Mode, where Makoto can choose to spend time with any of his classmates, or pass time by sleeping.Īssuming the player is trying to earn the Silver trophy for seeing all of the endings for all characters, the first thing necessary is to completely fill in all of the Report Cards for all of Makoto's classmates.
In School Mode, the player will be given one block of Free Time every day, and two on the one day per week that Makoto and his classmates are allowed to have off. If attempting to achieve the School's Out Forever (Silver) trophy, it's going to take at least four, probably five School Mode playthroughs. There is no way to "fail." Even if Makoto and his classmates aren't able to build Monokuma's concepts in the alotted time, School Mode continues and ends the same way. If just playing through School Mode for fun, it really doesn't matter how you play.
Once the player is given control over how to divide Makoto and his classmates, it can be very confusing as to what to do or how best to utilize them. School Mode is divided into two activities: Gathering materials, and Free Time.
